My favorite packaging project I’ve been apart of!

We were approached by sales with an opportunity to sell in some lawn games into stores like Kroger, Wegmans, and other big chains.

The only problem was none of the products had been merchandised. All the products had their own packaging, but none of them felt cohesive together. Mostly because all the products at that point, only lived on Amazon and other e-commerce sites.

The direction of the collection was to bring the Crown Brand into modern times. With a clean new look and logo, the direction was simple, minimalistic, and impactful. It was a part of my job to make sure that the product photography for the packaging met that art direction.

So we kept everything clean…

Inspiration: Architecture and Angles

For a lot of these Crown packages, we tried to make it dramatic and congruent with the box design. Sometimes wrapping it around the corner to draw the eye or at a severe angle to create that drama.

My favorite package out of the collection is the lawn bowling package because of the kinetic energy it has within the image. This is another example of how collaboration gets great results. The art director and I were thinking on the same wavelength as I was setting up what ended up being the final shot for the package, he was sketching it up.
